River Wildlife


River Wildlife, a private recreational and dining club, is a wilderness preserve encompassing more than 500 acres of unspoiled land, 5 miles of the meandering Sheboygan River and more than 18 miles of scenic woodland trails. A country club in the woods, this naturally secluded sanctuary is a relaxed place to get down to business or escape from it.

Recreational Activities

Enjoy the outdoors with recreational activities including self-guided hiking, canoe and kayak rentals, rifle and pistol range, seasonal pheasant hunting, self-guided fishing, 3-D archery range and cross-country skiing. Also available to members are four rustic hike-in campsites.

River Wildlife Lodge Restaurant

A rustic log cabin with a massive fieldstone fireplace and six intimate dining rooms featuring pine floors and antique wood furnishings is headquarters for the club and home to the renowned Lodge Restaurant. Culinary creations like Thyme-Roasted Duck with a Door County Cherry Tawny Port Glaze and Rushing Waters Smoked Salmon Watercress Chowder are part of the ever-changing, regionally inspired menu.

Relaxing at River Wildlife

Limited access to this private, members only club is available only to those with lodging reservations at either The American Club® or Inn on Woodlake with a purchased entry pass. River Wildlife is not open to the general public. Advance reservations are required for dining and activities.
